Erica, originally from Mexico, earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC. Before joining the Institute team, she held various roles in the banking and financial sectors, most recently as a Financial Inclusion Leader at Truist Bank. In this capacity, she worked as a business development officer for the Emerging Markets segment, focusing on expanding access to financial services in underserved communities by fostering strategic partnerships with businesses, nonprofits, and organizations. Erica’s efforts included delivering consumer and business education workshops, as well as providing essential tools, resources, and coaching. Prior to this role, she served as the Branch Manager at Truist’s main office in Sanford, NC, where she led the branch’s performance, emphasizing small business development, coaching, and management. With over nine years of experience in banking and finance, Erica now serves as the Executive Director of the Women’s Business Center of North Carolina, bringing a proven track record of success and leadership.
