What you need to know as a Real Estate Investor?

Introduction:
Looking /to offer your kids their favorite school with expensive out-of-state tuition? Want to see a larger and stable return on your personal investment? Or you want to quit working your 9-to-5 and start earning a profit on your own? No matter what the reason is, if you are looking to or already become a real estate investor, it is a very good way to diversify your investment portfolio. However, being a real estate investor always comes with certain risks that can create serious legal and financial consequences, both as a real estate owner and a landlord.

No matter if you are a real estate investor wants to/ shield your personal assets from the investment property, or if you are a landlord wants to know how to legally evict a hold-over tenant, or if you want to set up a estate plan to protect your assets for generations without worrying about probate procedure and to reduce your income taxes, we will cover that and answer your questions here at our NCCBA’s monthly luncheon, by the presentation made by real estate attorney Xiaoyang Wang.

Xiaoyang Wang will introduce several legal topics to cover the issues that most real estate investors draw their attention to, including:

1. When should a landlord hire a lawyer: Evictions, Housing Discrimination Complaints and Premises Liability?
2. The Rental Property Asset Protection Checklist: Insurance, LLC, and Trust.
3. Tips for tax-savings in real estate investment.

Xiaoyang Wang is a solo practicing attorney licensed in North Carolina and New York, with ample experiences in residential & commercial real estate closings, landlord-tenant law and small business consultations. She has focused her practices in real estate area, especially for new immigrant investors and provides innovative and practical legal solutions to her clients for asset protections, liability and risk prevention as well as tax-savings as related to real estate investments. She has represented several local business in setting up their entities, facilitating commercial transactions and providing legal consultations for start-ups and small business daily operations. Xiaoyang Wang was graduated from University of Missouri with a Juris Doctor Degree, and obtained a bachelor and master degree in Civil and Commercial Law from Renmin University of China. She has a law office in Cary, North Carolina.
