Jessica Stanford
Ms. Stanford will discuss population growth in North Carolina, as well as demographic shifts over time with respect to urbanization, race and ethnicity, education, income, and aging. She will then close with some future projections for North Carolina’s population.
Jessica Stanford is a Demographic Analyst with Carolina Demography at the Carolina Population Center at UNC-Chapel Hill. She assists a variety of clients, including local governments, non-profits, and students, in understanding the forces which shape North Carolina’s population growth and development. Prior to joining Carolina Demography, Ms. Stanford assisted the Virginia Cooperative Extension in completing a community food assessment of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, VA. Her research interests focus on sustainable development, especially in the field of agriculture and food systems. She earned her BS in Geographic Science at James Madison University, with a dual concentration in Applied GIS and Environmental Conservation and Sustainable Development.
